Is there seriously anyone better out there besides Christopher Walken? The guy is always a great interview, he nails SNL everytime he hosts, and he steals the scene in any movie he's in. Maybe I'm just a big fan, but you have to admit he's a cool dude.

BATTLESHIP SYNOPSIS
When I heard that the board game Battleship was being adapted into a film, I wondered how Peter Berg would be pulling this one off. An early description was that it was to follow a five ship fleet into an intense and violent battle but did not say against who. Well apparently this fleet will be fighting........ aliens.

I'm a big fan of sci-fi, so if they take this from being a guessing board game with plastic pegs, to fighting off underwater extraterrestrials, I'm all for that.




FOXX AND MARTIN TEAM UP ON NEW FILM
This is probably the worst idea I have read in a while, but after thinking about it, this will probably end up being just as successful as a Tyler Perry movie. If you ever watched Martin or In Living Color, then you are familiar with the characters Sheneneh and Wanda. Well, they will be coming to the big screen after a skit with the two characters was so well received at the BET Awards.

This looks bad on paper, but Zoolander was also an award skit and that is a pretty funny movie in my opinion. I like both Foxx and Martin so this could easily go either way, I'm guessing badly though.



GYLENHAAL SIGNS ON FOR SCI-FI THRILLER
Jake Gylenhaal has signed on for the upcoming film, Source Code. The film revolves around Gylenhaal's character who is a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it.

This plot has been done a few times with different movies and television shows, but I think this sounds good as well. The best part of it is that Duncan Jones who directed Moon will be directing this film. I'm eager to see how he does with a big budgeted film.

THE VATICAN TAPES
There is really no story here, I just read the synopsis for the film and it sounded kind of interesting. The Vatican Tapes centers on a series of events that unfold after a tape gets leaked from the Vatican displaying an exorcism that goes wrong.

Things that have to do with the vatican interest me, so this could possibly be an interesting movie. James Marsh who directed the documentary, Man On Wire, is directing this, so who knows how it will turn out.











JOHNSTON TALKS ABOUT JURASSIC PARK 4
First off, I didn't realize that Joe Johnston, the director of Jurassic Park 3, was the director of The Wolfman. This immediately makes me less excited for the film. But while doing an interview for The Wolfman, he was asked about the status of Jurassic Park 4. Here is what he had to say regarding a fourth film.

"There is a great story for the fourth one that I would be interested in getting involved with and it's nothing like the first three," Johnston told the site, "It sort of takes the franchise off in a completely different direction, which is the only way I would want to get involved."

He added that it likely won't be another storyline about a group of people struggling to survive a dinosaur attack. "We've done that and it's been done three times..."

It's good to see there is hope for a fourth film out there and that it isn't going to be the same thing we have seen three times already. Also here are some cool and funny fake posters floating around for the fourth film.



YOGI BEAR HEADED TO THE BIG SCREEN
When I was little, I loved Yogi Bear. Well much like Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Smurfs, Yogi is now coming to the big screen. So far the cast includes Dan Akroyd as Yogi and Justin Timberlake as Boo Boo. Anna Farris will play a nature documentarian who follows the antics of a bear in fictional Jellystone Park.

I'm not a big fan of Farris, but I like the casting for Yogi and Boo Boo. I just hope they don't cast Will Ferrell or Steve Carrell as Ranger Smith like a lot of people are suggesting. The movie is about the bears and with either of those guys, they will try and steal the movie while ruining it at the same time.

IT'S TUESDAY WHAT DVD SHOULD I BUY?

G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA
Ok, so I realize that it's split down the middle with people who liked the movie and didn't. I did. Unlike, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, this movie was fun. It started a little rough, but I think it finds a pace and turns out to be a pretty good film. The gadgets are cool, the action scenes aren't bad or overdone except in a few scenes, and I think it will look really good on blu-ray.



TAKING OF PELHAM 123
If your a fan of Denzel Washington or John Travolta, your not going to get the best performance from either of them. Tony Scott's films have never quite been on par with his brothers, but they are never really bad either. Taking of Pelham 123 is a good movie, but probably nothing you will want to watch often. Rent it, or if you happened to really like it, buy it.



I LOVE YOU BETH COOPER
I did not see this, simply because it looked horrible. There is nothing much to say about this. It looked bad, it performed bad at the box office and besides Hayden Panettiere, who is no great actress, there is a whole bunch of nobodies in it. I'd stay away from this one.



WATCHMEN: THE ULTIMATE CUT
I hate when studios release a movie and then a few months later, release a better version to make double profit. You know they had that version to begin with. Anyway, Warner Brothers pulled the double sale trick on Watchmen fans, because the director's cut is being released. It has almost twenty-six more minutes and weaves The Tales From the Black Freighter into the story. Worth a buy if your a die hard fan.

If you have a kid, I'm sure they would love it, if not stay away.







HARDWIRED
Former movie stars and now direct to dvd stars, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Val Kilmer have finally teamed up for the ultimate direct to dvd film....HARDWIRED!!!! The story revolves around Gooding's character who after his wife and unborn child are killed, gets a new chip in his brain that saves his life, has amnesia, tries to find the killers, chip goes wrong.......same stupid story we've seen before. I have never seen a good direct to dvd movie and I don't think this one will be any different.



STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS: SEASON ONE
I refuse to buy into the new George Lucas theme, which is to appeal to kids and take a giant dump on everything awesome he did with the original trilogy. That being said, I know there are some fans of the show out there and there is a lot of extra features that come with this set, plus it will look great on blu-ray. Not for me though. Shame on you Lucas, shame on you.

TERMINATOR FRANCHISE GOES ON AUCTION
At the end of the month the Terminator franchise will be actioned off to the highest bidder. Halcyon, the company with the current rights to it, went under a few months back which has led to the actioning of it. As of right now Sony seems to be the favorite to win over the franchise.

What will this mean for the franchise? I don't think McG will be returning for the fifth film now. I didn't think Salvation was bad like most people, I think he was on the right track. But, I'm not going to pitch a fit if someone else steps in to make it either. I hope whoever takes over does not bring back Bale as John Connor. I think the fans will be ok with them switching again. Bale's antics during the last film really put a bad taste in my mouth. One thing is for sure, the franchise does need a good film is it's going to survive. As long as Fox stays away from it, I'll be fine.



MARK MILLAR TO DIRECT MYSTERY SUPERHERO FILM
Mark Millar, who has created comic books such as; Wanted, Kick Ass, and some Superman novels, will be debuting as a director with a superhero film. He is doing the film through third party investors, which means it will not be a big studio film, so that makes me think it won't be a big name superhero film. He is going to announce what the secret project is in February.

I liked Wanted, I get why some people didn't, but I did. Other than that I don't really care about the announcement. It could be something cool, but if he is going through third party investors to do the film I'm guessing it's going to be a less known project like Kick Ass and Wanted was. Kick Ass does look pretty cool though, so be looking for that film, it comes out this year.



FREEMAN SIGNS ON FOR NEW COMEDY
Morgan Freeman and director Peter Segal, will be joining up for a new comedy. The working title is Dirty Old Men, and is about an aging playboy who finally falls in love and his best friend/wingman tries to stop it. It is said to have the feel of Wedding Crashers meets The 40 Year Old Virgin.

I'm not a Peter Segal fan, he is hit and miss with me. I hated Get Smart, Anger Management, The Nutty Professor 2 and The Naked Gun series, but I did like The Longest Yard, 50 First Dates, The Nutty Professor and his best film, Tommy Boy. Reports are saying they would like Jack Nicholson to play the aging playboy role, which would reunite him and Morgan from The Bucket List, and him and Segal from Anger Management. I like the idea of Nicholson coming on board, he is one of the best, and is actually pretty funny in a "scary, want to kill you way".



ROGER RABBIT SCRIPT IN WORKS
Robert Zemekis has said in an interview that a sequel to the awesome 80's film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, is currently being worked on my the two original writers. Zemekis said that it would be true to the original as far as animation goes, which means no CGI.

I can't wait for this. I love the original and I'm really glad they aren't going to make it a CGI film. I hope they can bring Bob Hoskins back whether it be a cameo or as a lead role. This film can go so many places with the new technology of today.

MEN IN BLACK 3 MOVING FORWARD
Tropic Thunder writer, Etan Cohen, has been hired by Columbia Pictures to write a new Men In Black film. Neither director Barry Sonnenfield or stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones have signed onto the film yet, but more than Likely Smith and Jones will return.

I'm not against a third MIB movie. The second one was a disaster, but I think they could have a really good film. Will Smith has a lot on his plate coming up, with a prequel to I Am Legend, Bad Boys 3 and Hancock 2. Also, IMDB has 24 in develpoment projects listed for him.









ANTHONY HOPKINS CAST AS ODIN IN THOR
I'm really liking how Thor is turning out cast wise. Hopkins will be playing Odin, the father of Thor. He will be joining Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Robert DeNiro and Jude Law.

FALL TELEVISION REVIEWS: PART 2

ENTOURAGE (HBO)
The sixth season of Entourage ended last night and even though this season didn't center around Vince trying to get a movie, it was one of the best seasons yet. This is by far one of the best shows on television. The writing is great and there isn't a single bad actor on the show. Ari Gold will end up being one of the greatest tv characters of all time. This show is as close to perfect as it gets and for that it gets a 5 out of 5.



TRAUMA (NBC)
Horrible. This show takes everything it can think of and stretches it way beyond belief. Even though the cast is pretty recognizable, the writers make the characters so stupid and so unbelievable, that it is painful to watch. This series jumped the shark after four minutes with it's big explosions and "I don't care" character attitude. I'll be nice and give this show a 1.5 out of 5.



THE MIDDLE (ABC)
The Middle is a lot like Malcom in the Middle. It stars Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn as two middle class parents trying to raise three completely different kids. This is your typical sitcom, but it works and I liked it, which I was expecting not to. This show had solid ratings, but could struggle on down the road. I hope it lasts at least a season, because I think there is potential here. I give it a 3.5 out of 5.



HANK (ABC)
I thought Trauma was bad until I watched the first fifteen minutes of Hank. Hank stars Kelsey Grammar as a millionaire who has to start over when he is fired from his own company. The first five minutes of this show, was honestly some of the worst television I have ever seen. The writing is horrible, the actors are terrible. One thing I noticed also was how bad the sets for the show were. Some scenes didn't look real at all. This gets a 0 out of 5.



PARKS AND RECREATIONS (NBC)
The first season of this show was horrible, but it was only six episodes long. I thought maybe with a whole summer to get a good season together that it would improve. It did not. The show is an exact copy of The Office. It is in no way funny and all you do is sit there and compare it to The Office. Unlike The Office, all the characters are annoying and not funny, and the story lines are stupid. Just look at the picture here, it even looks stupid. The show will not last the season. I give it a 1 out of 5.

TRANSFORMERS 3 COMING 2011
Michael Bay announced that production on Transformers 3 began today and will not be released in 2012 but 2011. He said the story is great (yeah right) and he had a five hour meeting with ILM this morning.

Oh yeah, he also had this to say on his website...

"P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. That's pretty funny if you ask me. Hopefully that will keep her out of the film. Then that will be one less crappy thing to watch. I'm also pretty disappointed Bay is returning. I was really hoping they could end this crapfest on a good note. Bay does get some cool points in my book though for his little message to Fox.



FOXX JOINS DUE DATE
Jamie Foxx has joined the Todd Phillips comedy Due Date. He plays Robert Downey Jr.'s best friend who is with him when he has to hitch a ride with Zack Galafanakis's character in order to get to the birth of his child on time. Michelle Monaghan plays Downey's pregnant wife and use to be lover of Foxx.

This sounds like it's coming together very nicely. I am big fans of everyone involved with this film and can't wait to see a trailer.



TARINTINO ANNOUNCES KILL BILL 3
Quentin Tarantino announced on a latin talk show that he plans on making Kill Bill 3 ten years after the first one was released. He said that he wanted to do it ten years apart so "the bride" could have a nice break between everything she went through.

I would much rather see something new from him or a spinoff of Inglorious Bastards. I'm not opposed to a third Kill Bill, I liked the first two, I would just rather see something else.



JACKMAN IN TALKS FOR REAL STEEL
Hugh Jackman is in talks to star in Real Steel. The film is about an ex fighter who becomes a promoter when boxing is outlawed due to the violence. Instead 2,000 lb. robots with human qualities take over as the fighters.

This sounds like it has the potential to be a very stupid movie. Dreamworks is doing it with Spielberg and Zemeckis attached to produce so who knows.



FIRST LOOK AT DATE NIGHT
The first official picture from the Tina Fey and Steve Carrell film, Date Night was released today. Date Night follows their characters as their typical date night takes a turn for the worst. Mark Whalberg, James Franco, Common, and Kristen Wiig all co-star.

This is another movie I am looking forward to. Once again, I love everyone in the cast and it could really turn out to be a great comedy.
