Weekly Wrap Up

NATALIE PORTMAN JOINS THOR
It was reported this week that Natalie Portman had signed on to costar in Thor. Portman signed on to play Jane Foster a nurse and later love interest to Dr. Donald Blake (aka Thor). Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek) will be playing Thor and is directed by Kenneth Branagh (Mary Shelly's Frankenstien).

MAX STEEL TO BECOME NEXT ACTION FILM BASED OFF ACTION FIGURE
With Transformers 2 already in theatres and G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra opening next month, Paramount has decided to give another action figure a shot at the box office. Paramount and Matel have agreed to adapt the action figure into a full length film. We all remember him and his short lived cartoon right?

BRIDGET JONES BACK FOR A THIRD TIME???
I remember watching one of the Bridget Jones movies once and thinking it wasn't really that bad, but do we really need a trilogy out of this. Rene Zellweger has become the next Oprah in the sense that she's fat, she's skinny, she's fat, she's skinny. I mean pick a body type and go!!!! Anyway, apparently she'll be packing on the pounds again for a third movie.

FIRST PIC OF SCARLETT JOHANNSON AS BLACK WIDOW
This is probably my favorite news of the week, since Iron Man 2 is one of my most anticipated movies. In the sequel Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow are back as Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle is replacing Terrance Howard as James Rhodes, and Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell have joined to play villains Whiplash and Justin Hammer.

RYAN REYNOLDS IS THE GREEN LANTERN
Warner Brothers finally decided on who will be wearing the green ring. Ryan Reynolds beat out Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake for the role of Green Lantern. I would have like to have seen Bradley Cooper personally and while I think Justin Timberlake is a fairly decent actor (besides Love Guru), he would have made a horrible Green Lantern. This makes Reynolds third comic book character, Wade Wilson (Deadpool) and Hannibal King (Blade: Trinity) for Marvel, and now Green Lantern for DC.
