Unfortunately, we live in a world that thinks just because Megan Fox, Jessica Alba, Matthew McConaughey and Dane Cook are good looking people, that they are good actors. Something else that is unfortunate, is that their movies usually do well even though they suck and should be box office flops. Here are my favorite people today in Hollywood. These people to me show class on and off screen, doing interviews, helping with charities, or even being chased by paparazzi.
TOM HANKS
Is there anyone with more class than Hanks? The man has one of the best resumes in Hollywood. He is one of few people who the paparazzi leaves alone because he is so nice to them and anytime I watch him being interviewed, he is funny and willing to do anything.
KEVIN SPACEY
Spacey happens to be my favorite actor. He, like Hanks, is also someone with an impressive resume. He was a part of several awesome movies in the nineties, many being some of my all time favorites. He is always a fun interview to watch as well. He has been pretty quiet in the 2000's, focusing on theatre and smaller roles. Spacey needs to get back to making movies because he is rarely in a bad film.
ANNE HATHAWAY
Hathaway showed up in 2001's, The Princess Diaries and from there has had a wide variety of films from animated films like Hoodwinked, controversial films like Brokeback Mountain, chick flicks like The Devil Wears Prada, and her first Oscar Nominated film, Rachel Getting Married. I think that her career will keep going up with her diverse resume.
PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN
I wish this guy would do more movies, because I love him in just about anything he has ever done. He has had an awesome past few years with films like Mission Impossible 3, where he played one of the best villains I've seen in a while. He has been nominated for three Academy Awards since 2005, two for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Doubt and Charlie Wilson's War and won for Best Actor for his work in Capote. The man can certainly act. I just hope he'll land the role of Penguin in a future Batman film.
JAMIE FOXX
I am only putting Foxx on here because he really is a good actor. That being said, he is on the path of Samuel L. Jackson as far as movie choices go. The man will make something great like Ray or Collateral and then go off and make Stealth and this upcoming Shenehneh and Wanda movie. He needs to get a new agent or something, because he is wasting a lot of talent on some of his movie choices, but he really is a good actor and hopefully will continue to make good movies.
MATT DAMON
Damon is one of the most consistent actors in Hollywood when it comes to making good films. He is made over twenty films and the only bad one's I can think of are The Brother's Grimm and Stuck On You. His great movies include; Saving Private Ryan, Ocean's Eleven, The Departed, Good Will Hunting, and The Bourne franchise. He is also a big giver to charities and always gives an awesome or funny interview.
I would like to see more ladies step up in the movie game. You have your older people like Julia Roberts, Halle Berry (who is hit and miss), and Meryl Streep, but there isn't really any young actresses blowing up right now.
So who do you think is a legit star of our time?

No Will Smith? And I am being serious. By the way this is will
ReplyDeleteThere you go Will Smith. How did I forget about him? He is certainly a class act on and off screen.
ReplyDeleteDenzel Washington. And even though he is kind of a douche, Russell Crowe is a good actor. And Heath Ledger would hopefully be on your list if he wasn't deceased.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I almost put Ledger, but since he passed away I left him out. He could have done some great stuff if he wasn't gone. But yeah, Denzel is great and I like Crowe ok, his attitude turns me off a lot of times.
